02 / Our story
From Los Angeles
to Paducah.
Our hospitality story began in Los Angeles in 2012 as Crashpad Hospitality. The Dim Light came later—born in Paducah from everything we learned along the way.
Kyle began his career on the Emmy Award-winning television series Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, followed by work on productions for NBC, Fox and HGTV before focusing on his own design career in Los Angeles. His work was also featured on Bravo’s Million Dollar Listing, where the project sold for more than $14 million. A Paducah native, Wil brought a graphic designer’s eye from his work at a Los Angeles advertising agency.
In 2015, they left their day jobs and went all-in on hospitality. Since then, their properties in Los Angeles, Waikiki Beach, Charleston, North Myrtle Beach and Paducah have welcomed thousands upon thousands of guests from across the world. Their properties have consistently earned Airbnb Superhost status and top-10% rankings worldwide—recognition that reflects years of delivering far more than a place to sleep.
Today, Kyle and Wil remain deeply involved in every renovation and every stay—from layouts, lighting and artwork to budgets, operations and the details guests may never realize were considered. Design is their passion, but travel is their education. The places they discover around the world continue to shape every Dim Light experience they create in Paducah.
